Inhalt

Electoral behaviour is one of the central core tasks to which political sociology is dedicated. In this context, classical approaches known to the literature for decades continue to play a central key role. The core concern of this course is, on the one hand, the application-oriented introduction to central concepts of empirical election research, in which a comparative perspective is always to be maintained. On the other hand, theoretical-conceptual developments of these approaches, and the voting behaviour of specific social groups such as migrants, the population living in rural areas or LGBTQ+ individuals will be considered. The aim is that at the end of the course, students can present their own theory-driven and empirically elaborated analysis dedicated to comparative electoral behaviour.
